Calyco Tuff Stuff Rapid Set Trowellable Heavy Duty Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Paste is a two component epoxy compound reinforced with a fibre resin system possessing excellent adhesion, good mechanical properties and quick curing for emergency repairs to a variety of equipment.
This fast cure epoxy system allows for quick return to service of equipment when downtime is limited. Tuff Stuff Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Paste Resin Fibre Epoxy will bond to steel, wood, ceramic, fibreglass and concrete. Typical use includes repair to cracked pressure pipes, ducts, pumps, valves and tanks.
Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Surface Preparation:
The surface should be free of all foreign matter such as dirt, oil, loose particles, rust and other contaminates. The substrate surface should be abraded by hand or mechanical method of preparation such as grinding, abrasive blasting, HP water method, scarifying and the like to obtain a good surface profile of 70-75 micron finish for bonding.
Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Mixing and Application Information:
Tuff Stuff Resin Fibre Epoxy Rapid Set is a two pack 100% solids epoxy system, which has a paste like consistency when mixed. This enables the mixed material to be applied up to 5mm build at a time. The two components should be placed on a mixing board and mixed using a spatula or trowel until a uniform grey colour is obtained. The mixed epoxy is now applied using a trowel or spatula. In bonding applications the two surfaces are now mated together with clamping if required and allowed to cure. Differences in cure time will arise due to volume of material mixed, thickness of application and ambient temperatures. Heating components up to 40°C may accelerate the cure process or by allowing the mixed product to stand for a short time prior to use.
